Our Supported Living
Our Independent and Supported living services are for those vulnerable adults who have physical or sensory impairments, learning difficulties, mental health issues and people who for any other reason are unable to care for or protect themselves. We most often provide services to adults with learning difficulties and adults with mental health support needs. We will walk all the way with you to live a more independent life.
We at Join Hands Supported Living Service know that the needs of each service user are different and always changing. Therefore, we have adapted our Service to meet those needs through our training programs and engagement with all Service Users. We work in partnership with other services and if we cannot support you with something you need, we will try our best to find you a service that can!
Our purpose is to make sure that:
- your rights are respected
- you have your choice and privacy
- you are valued for who you are
- have the opportunity to have a fulfilling life
- can take part in your own community if you wish
- have independence even if there is some risk
We will support you to:
- make plans for each change to your life
- work towards independence
- have choice and control
Our aims in supporting you is to help:
- manage your relationship with professionals, neighbours, family and friends.
- To find accommodation
- Manage your personal space and domestic hygiene
- Stay in good health
- To manage your budget and paying bills
- training/education/recreation
- emotional well-being
- make plans for the future.
- to tailor our support packages and accommodation to meet individual’s needs
- to always be available to give support and advice when required
- to provide you with all the support in order for you to make informed choices about your life
- to ensure that we only use staff who can demonstrate skills in child development, community involvement, youth justice, advocacy, motivational techniques, parenting, sexual health, etc.
- to provide assessment, planning and review documents as specified by the service provision of each scheme
- to help you update your support plan as required in line with your goals and objectives
- to support you in an open culture environment free from abuse
- to be there 24 hours a day if required.
Our goal
Our goal is that:

- you increase your self-esteem and sense of self-worth
- to develop positive peer group relations
- to develop appropriate relationships with professionals and know your rights
- to develop a sense of responsibility and accountability for decision making
- to increase social skills, problem solving skills and communication skills
Tenancy Agreement
We will support you with finding an appropriate accommodation, going through your tenancy agreement and making sure that you understand its contents
Stay in touch with family and friends
Staying connected with family and friends is always very important in our emotional being
We will support you to maintain all your contacts with your family and friends or make new friends be it visits or making phone calls as long as all users deem it necessary.
Financing and Benefits
We understand how important it is to stay on top of your finances and not constantly run short of money or mismanagement.
We will make sure all your bills are paid in time, food shopping is done, plan holidays, other leisure activities and saving for the future if required
Community Support
We will support you to access all parts of your community as required, like Health professionals, Education facilities, Leisure centres and many more that are of interest and health benefit to you
